Breastfeeding.

There were so many times that I had heard it’s “easy” & I know I’m not the only one who’s experience falls far From that. lactation nurses,YouTube, books, nothing seemed to help. I was tired, frustrated & eager to make it work.

That first week was hard... My body felt like a truck had ran through me, my shoulders &back hurt from feeding & holding my daughter. I swear the pain my nipples felt was worse than laboring itself. I had Mastitis (twice) in the first Month& it was so painful that I decided I couldn’t do it anymore. I was disappointed that another thing I wanted for my experience in motherhood had failed.

I tried again at month 3, It took a lot of patience from both of us girls & we are Finally able to nurse exclusively. There’s still days when it doesn’t go as I hoped, but we are doing the best we can. I did what worked for US & It has empowered me in so many ways, but I do know the struggle & the blood, sweat & tears that goes into it.

Postpartum & motherhood have so many extraordinary moments however, a lot of them are tough—so check in on ur momma friends & encourage them.

For the non breastfeeding mommas & the nursing mommas & the somewhere in between mommas...YOU’RE amazing.

it is OK to do what is best for YOU & YOUR baby && you will know what that is 🤍🤎🖤
